I love you, 2010!

Some of my highlights in no particular order:
  • RW Tahoe weekend! Snowboarding and dancing the night away to Lady Gaga. Shot, shot, shot.
  • Reno for more fun in the snow. The Sex and the City penny slot machines were lucky (& fun!).
  • Wicked, the musical. It was SO good that it was necessary to see it more than once.
  • Santa Cruz with the family. Family time is the best, hands down!
  • Birthday birthday :) Watched Beauty and the Beast, the musical. That same day, the Giants' August drought ended - led by my man. Haha!
  • I landed a new job! & a promotion within six weeks, win.
  • San Francisco GIANTS! The four-hour rain delay in April, the agony of losses, the joy of the victories, we did it. The SF Giants won the 2010 World Series! FCK YEAH! Another bullet on my bucket list crossed out.
  • The numbers of weekends at Disneyland... :)
  • etc, etc, etc...
In general, 2010 was really good to me. *sigh...* I have high hopes for 2011. :)

Happy Holidays!

It's almost Christmas! :)

I lagged on my shopping this year, which I plan on not doing from this year forward. It was pretty stressful, hehe. I am so glad I no longer work in retail because between finding parking, holiday shoppers, and hours -- I would've had NO energy. Regardless, I'm pretty excited to hand out my gifts to my family. I really hope they like their stuff.

What did I ask from Santa this year? A GOLD WATCH (among others)! Haha! *sigh...*

Anyway, I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas with lots of love, joy, and good cheers. ;)

November Rain

Finally, the cold air is starting to take over. I love cold weather! I really shouldn't take living in California for granted, but sometimes I feel like I do -- not having to worry about plowing snow or driving on icy roads. Anyway, I hope I can go back to the snow this year, even for just a weekend getaway. :)

Work has been consuming lately although not completely. I'm having fun, yet at the same time I feel like the stress is ready to consume my head. I don't want to let that happen, but I feel like I don't even have control of my time anymore. *sigh* I just have to work through it because I do like my job.

Two weekends ago, Mike and I celebrated our fourth year anniversary - where else? - at Disneyland. It was a brief getaway, but it was fun! We found a cheap deal at a nearby hotel, took advantage of the free shuttles to and from the park, and stayed within budget the entire time! :) On our way back home, we stopped by one of our favorite So. Cal ramen house for a quick but delicious dinner, and visited my cousin who is visiting from the Philippines! :) I finally met her husband and adorable daughter. Her call came at the perfect time because the ramen house was only fifteen minutes away (of course with LA traffic, it became a half hour). We stayed a while, did some catching up, and all that good stuff. I didn't expect to see them because they were in Las Vegas the days prior and were supposed to be flying in Pacquiao's chartered flight to Texas that day. However, with her almost-two-year-old daughter, they didn't want to be in Texas that early in the week. It was so nice to see her though, so I'm glad they didn't fly out with Team Pacquiao. LOL!

Speaking of the name, there was a friends and family gathering for no special occassion other than a Manny Pacquiao fight - that time against Antonio Margarito. Yes, Pacquiao got the unanimous W. Yes, he now has won titles in eight weight divisions. Yes, he's a great boxer. Yes, Mayweather is still running scared. HA! :)

Anyway, I must catch some sleep. This post is probably mumble-jumbled all over the place, but I just wanted to put in a quickie. After tomorrow, I will have the next two weekends off... then Anaheim again for two days. Excited? Yes! Especially because I just renewed my Disneyland Annual Pass. Yippeee!

Thank you, 2010 SF Giants!

Growing up a San Francisco Giants fan has had its ups and downs -- thrilling, exciting, heartbreaking. Still, I believed because they were my team. In the 90s I was the child who hated every team that got in my Giants' way -- the Marlins, Braves, Mets, and of course, the damned Dodgers to name a few. At seven years old, my team's awesome record was not good enough to carry them into the postseason. In 1997, I went back to school in October after my track's month off feeling like someone stole my Game Boy. I knew who it was too. Those stupid Marlins! :( Then after a dryspell, the century turned, a new ballpark was opened, and my team seemed to have been rebuilding to win it all. Oh yes, we were built to win it all, in 2002 we were told to take it in game six, or seven, or never! We lost to the freakin' Angels, those darn Anaheim Angels! :( I was offered to go to Disneyland for Halloween that year, and I said NO! I didn't want to see celebrations that mushed black and orange with any other colors. I was bitter. The next year did not ease my feelings either. Then I waited... and waited... said bye to Barry Bonds, who I still love to this day despite all haters... and waited. It came to a point where I saved enough money to see my team. Then waited some more. Then finally, with particles and miracles and magic, the wait ended. A couple thousand dollars and few voiceless days later, it ended.

The 2010 San Francisco Giants won it all - they are the 2010 World Series Champions! :) It really could not have happened to a better group of guys whose energy and passion for the game transpired on the field. These misfits and so forth... won it all. I can't get enough of them! Though I know faces will be changing for the next season, I can't help but to continue to love these guys. I feel like they rewarded me and the entire SF Giants fanbase who have waited decades for this feeling. It feels so amazing! Thank you, 2010 San Francisco Giants. I love my G-Men.

*sigh...*

Fall Classic!

I am basking in the moment that my San Francisco Giants are the star of this fall classic up two games to none against the Texas Rangers. Having scored twenty runs in 17 innings (because tonight's game ended in the middle of the ninth), the Giants have somewhat abandoned the one word that has described their style all season, torture! I'm not complaining though -- it's such a thrill to watch the guys explode offensively. Our veterans, Uribe & Renteria, have gone big, while Freddy Sanchez showed the world, once again, why he owns a batting title as he hit three doubles and a single in last night's game. The rest of the lineup are swinging freely and well. I love it! :) By the way, in case you didn't know... Matt Cain is a beast having 21.3 IP with 0.00 ERA! As Brian Wilson would say, "Delicious!"

The men will fly out to Texas tomorrow as they prepare for games three and four, and possibly five, in Texas. I'm excited for them! I will only see middle innings of game three as I have work early in the day and a prior commitment later that evening. However, please believe that my heart will be with the Giants ALL THE WAY with a Giants shirt under my office attire. Does it sadden me? Yes. I want to see it all! I want to see my Sanchy! ;) It's all good though -- good vibes sent their way.

I don't know what's on tap tomorrow evening. No baseball?! My oh my.

Hello, World Series!

It's three thirty in the morning, but my body is still full of adrenaline that I can't find a way to sleep. I mean how can I? How does one find a way to sleep knowing that something amazing just happened?  Yeah, it's pretty tough. I don't mind though! Why? Because that "something amazing" is no other than the fact that:

The San Francisco Giants are the 2010 National League Champions!

We're going to the World Series, baby! (screaming, screaming, and more screaming) Or as the clubhouse put it, "We're going to the 'ship, we're going to the 'ship, we're going to the 'ship!" I may not be on that roster nor am I related to one who is, but as a genuine fan of the team, I feel entitled to be as celebratory as the rest of the men are. For those who don't know, being a true fan isn't an easy task. Having been there for the team through wins and losses, through blown and dominated games, through the injuries and more, the trip to the 'ship makes it all worth just that much more! I can't explain this feeling -- it's soooo different from the feeling from back in 2002. I feel like these guys we have right now are simply the most perfect bunch of "misfits" ever.

Game six, of course, could not have happened in any other way than the Giants' way. TORTURE! From the super bizaare third inning -- in the top where defensive errors, confusions, a lead off single by the pitcher (yes, my Jonathan Sanchez), and beautiful at-bats-turned-hits by the top of the lineup allowed the Giants to tie the game at 2-2 -- then in the bottom when Sanchez and Utley went at it verbally causing the Sanchez to leave the game early at Bochi's decision bringing in the bullpen pitchers early. Standing ovation for the bullpen which included two starters -- Affeldt, Bumgarner, Lopez, Lincecum, and the mighty closer, fear the beard himself, Brian Wilson -- for an absolutely outstanding performance in tonight's game! Of course, loud applauds for tonight's hero, Juan Uribe, with his solo homerun in the eighth inning, putting the Giants up 3-2. I don't know... I feel like every single player deserves recognition! Posey and his unbelievable intellect and focus; Ross the NL MVP and unsung hero coming in to the playoffs; Torres and Freddie Sanchez for their wonderful at-bats in the most crucial times; Burrell and Renteria and Panda for bringing on the rally throughout the playoffs; the PH Schierholtz, Ishikawa, and Rowand... I can go on and on and on. Shoot, let's give it up for Fontenot for without him, this game would not have been so Giants-like. :)

I can honestly go on and on and on about what's going through my mind, but I shall stop. I am sorry in advance because I have this feeling that when I read this a few days from now when my mind is all cleared, this post sound like a bunch of nonsense in which all I really wanted to say was that...

The Giants have won the National League, and we are going to the World Series! I am still in awe. :) Such a grrreat feeling... if you're a Bay Area sports fan, you know how it has been in our world! Had it not been for unexpected (really, unwanted at that moment) guests at the house, I would have cried. SOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!

The Rangers are coming to town. Posey vs Benjie <3 Let's go Giants!

It's Black & Orange Month!

In less than three hours, game six of the NLCS will be on live from Philadelphia. I am wishing and hoping and praying (oh my!) that the series will end tonight. Why? Because that would that the Giants would have clinched the 2010 National League title, and would be going on to the World Series against the Rangers. Ahh... *sigh...* I need to just stay calm... stay calm... woo.

Other than baseball, work has been consuming my time. I'm at work nine hours a day, five days a week... and with the new title, I will be just a little more consumed. I hope it all pays off, and I'm just grateful that I have a pretty good group of guys who are willing to help me. :)

So fall has finally arrived. It has been raining the past two days, and it's sort of comforting in a way. I love the cool breeze, the sound of the rain, and the fact that I am off all weekend! :) Yes. Anyway, today is a big day. Let's go Giants! Aaaahhh!

Orange October continues!

Nine days went by so fast, and big events have happened! :)

First things first, the Giants advanced to the NLCS beating the Braves in four games! Woohoo! I had the priviledge to attend the first game of the series in San Francisco with Mike. I originally invited my dad, but work got him tied up. That game was a whole new level of fun, and Tim Lincecum's performance was so epic - a complete shut-out game with 14 strikeouts! Oh man! We sat in the arcade section, and I could not have been more satisfied with our seats. It was a great view, and the fans were amazing! For the record, the chant, "Posey's better!" originated from our section in reference to the other Rookie of the Year contender, Jason Heyward. Yeah! I don't think there was ever a quiet moment during the ballgame, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Then... of course, the Giants lost game 2, but went to Atlanta to take games 3 and 4! Mike and I were in Anaheim at that time, so we watched game 3 at Shakey's and game 4 at ESPN Zone in Downtown Disney. SO MUCH FUN! Of course, the Giants had to end the series in a Giants-fashion, TORTURE!

As I mentioned above, we were in Anaheim. :) On Saturday afternoon, my dad brought me and Mike to Oakland Airport to catch a flight to LAX. Upon arrival, we took the shuttle to Avis rental car lot, and I got my first rental car ever! It was a Ford Focus and such a gas saver -- yippee! I've never driven a Ford before, and it wasn't so bad! ;) Anyway, we drove to Anaheim, checked in at our hotel (yay, free accommodation!), and called it a night. We spent the following two days at the Disneyland Resort, taking three-hour breaks each day to watch Giants baseball! LOL! We also watched World of Color twice! It was just too beautiful to not to watch again and again. Aah! It was a fun, relaxing trip. Next time, we're definitely doing more at the park! Haha.. and our trip ended as we flew back on yesterday afternoon. Blah!

Today, I had to return to work. We were busy and short-staffed, but my boss paid for my lunch! :) Yeah! Oh, and I got a promotion! I'm not sure how I feel about it yet though, but hey, it's advancement! I'm currently trying to finish my modules by Saturday. I don't know how that'll go considering we are short-staffed, it's a busy week, and one of the staff likes to lolly-gag. -___- On the other hand, I'm going to classroom training next week; my new position will take into effect next week as well. I'm kind of nervous. >.<*

p.s. I have totally lost respect for a manager from a different site. That breeze, tsk tsk.

Ok, I've rambled. Time to eat a late dinner... *sigh* Then, wait for Saturday, the first day of NLCS. Bring on the Philies, GO GIANTS!! :)

October baseball!

I cannot describe the feeling of having the privilege to witness and partake in the magic at AT&T Park yesterday afternoon. I think just about everyone who were there knew what was at stake: the NL West title! As Mike and I drove to San Francisco, all we could talk about was how amazing this season has been for the Giants and for the fans. I must have checked my bag ten times to make sure I had our tickets, and tried to preserve the space on my memory card and the battery on my camera to the best of my ability. Yesterday was all about the Giants for me and for the forty-something thousand fans in attendance and even more at home. For a brief moment, we talked about the possible scenarios if the Giants were to not clinch... then we stopped. How dare we, or anyone, talk about such possibilities! We knew we were going to get it done on the 162nd game in a Giants-like manner -- tortuous!

After hours of waiting, which we didn't mind so much since we were able to catch glimpses of some players practicing, it was game time! My man, Jonathan Sanchez, took the mound and started the game with a strike, no less. Yes, I have gotten so many heckles about this "infatuation" I have with the 4th pitcher in the Giants rotation, but I never backed down from believing. (Ask Mike or my dad or brothers, lol!) Back on track -- scoreless innings after scoreless innings from both teams, we caught a HUGE break in the third as J. Sanchez hit a triple! Jonathan Sanchez hit a triple! :) RBIs by Freddie Sanchez and Aubrey Huff put the Giants up 2-0. We got two more scoreless innings from Sanchez before he was relieved. As we all know, the Giants bullpen have been nothing less than spectacular going lights out on opponents. Still, we needed an insurance hit. It came in the eighth from who else? Buster Posey! At that moment, everyone knew we have won the ballgame. As Brian Wilson came out in the ninth inning, the entire crowd had stood up from the seats. We needed three outs and no runs, and three outs and no runs we got! The place erupted as if we had won the World Series, and there was no turning back.

The San Francisco Giants are the 2010 National League West Champions!

We stayed around for the interviews, which we watched on the big screen in the park, for the champaigne-popping which turned into beer-popping after running out of champagne, and more importantly... for the love of the team. :) It was so glorifying to see the entire team take a victory lap around the park high-fiving lucky fans near the edge, and the players cheering to no ends mouthing "thank yous" here and there. We've done it! The season-ender montage had me choked up deep inside, knowing that I waited in that four-hour rain delay back in April against the Braves (ha!), put off a lot just to witness as much games as I could, and stuck with the team through the roller-coaster ride not just this season but in the past as well. It was indeed gratifying. Oh & guess what? My Jonathan Sanchez Si Se Puede poster made it on the big screen. :) Yay!!

Now, we must face some more hurdles. 11 wins -- let's do it! ;) Believe in  magic. <3 It's great to be a true fan. (;

Thank you, San Francisco Giants, for an amazing season.

It's October!

My head is throbbing, and my body is yearning for my bed. Still somehow, I can't seem to fall asleep. The back of my ears are hurting from wearing these darn specks all day to see. Sure, I could have worn my contact lenses, but my eyes needed a full day to breathe. Ah.. :(

September has quickly become a blur. The only way I could even recall most of it was by browsing through my sporadic micro updates via Twitter and Facebook. Then, I realized what September 2010 was all about for me. It consisted of adjusting and adapting to my new work place, the heart attacks that were threatening to happen due to Giants baseball, and the sad fact that I relied so heavily once again on my sidekick, coffee, almost as much as I did when I had those deadly thirteen hours of school with nothing but the ten minute breaks in between classes. Yes, my September was... thriving!

I am happy to say that I partook in making last quarter's campaign at work. I mean, I was there 1/3 of the way.. ;) We went into our last day of campaign at 97%, and ended it with an amazing 101%! We pulled it off on our very last day... with the auditor constantly breathing down our necks and hawking us every second of the day. We couldn't help but applaud ourselves for all the hard work. Now, I am simply waiting on what else could happen for me over the course of this next week. Hopefully, it's something great...

Tomorrow (err later today) is the 162nd baseball game of the season for the Giants... aka the last game of the regular season! It's do or die, everyone... it's a must win if we want the torture to end and become the NL West Champs! :) I believe... and I will be at the park to celebrate. WOO! Giants October baseball... game on! ;P

Wednesday, September 22, 2010

Well... hello.

If there's anything I hate about working full time, it's the fact that the government takes about a quarter percent of my salary. Why?! Federal tax, state tax, medicare, social security, etc... UGH! I'm only griping about this because when tax season rolls around, less than a quarter of those take-aways find its way into my bank account. Sad, sad, sad. I swear I don't make more than $250K. I wish...

Anyway, I'm finally back from training. Fremont was as I remembered it... I guess. Heh. Classes went well, and my instructor even sent a feedback to my boss with, "Best in class." *happy dance in motion* ;) I am officially on my own behind the fish bowl, and so far things are going just fine. Today, I met the district manager for the first time, and our first conversation was about the 49ers. Yeaaah, let's not talk about Monday night's result, and instead bask the fact that the Niners actually played extremely well. Let's just look ahead... like how the Giants won once again, are a half game up in the NL West, and a game back in the Wildcard (which we refuse to look back on). Let's go Bay Area! :) Lol.

For now, I must go back to my yellow pad, Excel, and calculator to figure out next month's budget. October will be a great month! :)

Gray on mines.

Since my last update, quite a lot has happened. My last week at my previous workplace came and went really fast, with my ex-manager breathing down my neck EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I made sure that my credenza and file cabinets were cleared of all work. Because I'm pretty much awesome (just kidding), I was up to date with everything, and all important documents were filed accordingly. The next supervisor should be in good shape with starting fresh. I had to clean up the works of the two supervisors that preceded me plus my manager's. -__-

As for my first week at my new workplace? So far, so good. :) I worked six days, finished my online modules, got into my phone conference, scheduled my classroom training, did some hands-on, and did a lot of running for the new co-workers. Needless to say, I did work! :P I feel the pressure of having to get up to date with everything ASAP, and the thought of having to create orders for my seniors is stressful. :( Help me, God. Prayers are welcome, heh.

Also since last time, I went to another Giants game... this time with Mike, my dad, and Matthew. My dad bought Matt his first Giants t-shirt to celebrate his first live baseball game ever. :) We had so much fun, and the Giants kicked some Reds' asses. I just bought two more tickets for the last game of the season. It costed $100 more for two less tickets, thanks to this crazy Pennant Race in the NL West. Whew! It'll be worth it though, regardless, I hope. LOL :) Fan appreciation day! Yeeeah.

1/2 Panda

What a week! It was full of love, blessings, and errands. Work was pretty slow all week, which I felt was a blessing because it allowed me to do the things I needed to do. I cleared out most of the paperwork in my drawers, and shredded overdue retentions. I also did check-backs, and submitted this week's reports. Outside of work, I was able to attain my fingerprints, notary, and drug test. I got my phone orientation done, and shipped the necessary documents! Now, I just have to wait and wait and wait.

My birthday was great! :) The night before, my sister-in-law cooked my favorite-type spaghetti, and Mike bought Wingstop. It was so good! On the actual day, my co-workers brought food for the celebration. We had: salad, pancit, vegetable lumpia with spicy vinegar (fave!), pizza, cupcakes, and strawberry-dipped chocolate. The office smelled like food by lunch time, heheh. I was so grateful. <3 When I got home, my brother and sister-in-law brought me a Hello Kitty cake. It was so cute and delicious (red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting)! :) My mom bought me strawberry shortcake ice cream cake from Coldstone, and my other brother cooked afritada and some more pancit. YUMMY!! I blew out my candles before Mike and I left for San Francisco. We watched Beauty and the Beast, the Musical at the Golden Gate Theater. It was so funny! What a way to celebrate my day, eh? It's gonna be a good year! Woohoo, good vibes!

That same day, I turned in my resignation letter., which was a difficult task... >,<

Productive Out

Santa Cruz with the family was super fun! :) We left early in the morning to embark the almost two-hour drive to the beach. We got there pretty early, so we had rock star parking and spot on the beach. It didn't take long for the sun to come out and start kissing my skin. I love brown skin! When the sun started striking instead of kissing, we started rinsing off and packing up. Then... the boardwalk! I finally had my long-awaited deep fried Oreos -- so delicious! I'm dying to go back already! :D

I woke up this morning (or Monday) with a fat headache, so I called my manager. I knocked out soon after getting off the phone, but woke up in time to send off my nephews and niece for their first day of school. Today was Kyla's first day of kindergarten! Oh my.. college soon! Haha. Since I wasn't going to work, I decided that I should at least make it a productive day. I ate a slice of toast for the sake of taking pain reliever pills then started getting ready. I attended Kyla's orientation then had lunch with the family. Afterwards, I finally went to DMV to get my driver's license renewed, and to the SSA office to verify all information associated with my SSN. I have to go back. -__- I also got a quick pedicure because my sister-in-law forced me too. I honestly felt like I was robbed $20. BOO!!

Needless to say, not going to work is pretty darn expensive. UGH!

p.s. I have sooo much paperwork and tests to take for this "next step" thing. Wish me luck, please! :) Prayers are highly encouraged. Thank you.

On My "Chezt"

I have to renew my license before this Thursday since it expires that day, my birthday! This past week was pretty good to me. The family celebrated my brother's 35th birthday. Yes, we've got quite an age gap, hehe. Though I wasn't able to swim with the family due to work, I was able to drive myself to the resort in time for dinner. Cheers to my brother and a better life ahead of him. :)

Also, I interviewed for a position at a different company. I'd like to say that the interview went a lot better that I initially thought it did. I guess I'll speak more on this as I get more information and call-backs. I just don't want to jinx anything.

After countless of canceling and rescheduling, Mike and I were finally able to meet with Brandon Lohmann of the Sacramento Kings marketing department. We were given a "backstage" tour of Arco Arena and all that. We're thinking about buying (quarter) season tickets, but we'll see. It's pretty pricey, and we have to decide on just the right package. Dun dun dun.

Finally, to finish off the week, I went to the series opener of the Giants vs Padres game with my dad and boyfriend. Our seats were fantastic, and the night was just a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we lost. No sweeps, no first place in the NL West this weekend. Luckily, we won today. Posey and Uribe came through in the 11th inning. ::happy dance:: I'm hoping Lincecum will come with his stuff during Sunday's game. Oh, and because I get so obsessed about watching sports in the ballpark -- I bought another set of tickets for a game in less than two weeks. Heheh.

Tomorrow (err, I guess later on today), my family is going to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It's sort of a summer-ender since the kids start school on Monday. My niece/God-daughter is going to kindergarten! It's so exciting. The boys will be in 2nd and 8th grade. They're all growing up so fast. ::sigh:: <3

Happy birthday, Tatay!

Today is his birthday.

Though he is with the amazing Lord, I know he watches over us all the time just like when he was still here. I MISS HIM! I regret having been a brat to him. He cared for me so much, and loved me unconditionally. He was the only grandfather I ever knew, and I couldn't have asked for a greater one. He believed in me, and watched me practice my "news reports." He always bought my Play-Doh pizzas, and complimented my cooking. He would call me "Doctor" as I massaged his legs, and gave me a dollar if I put in extra effort. Everytime I left, he would tell me to come back for him. :)

He spent the remainder of his aging years with the rest of my mom's family in the Philippines. He wanted to be physically close to his only brother. During his last few hours, all he wanted was for my family to be by his side. Unfortunately, we were halfway across the world, and arrived too late. :'( Nonetheless, he gave us a sign of peace and understanding. That was just the man he was, and I hope to be the kind of woman he had hoped for me to be.

I'm sorry. I have to stop right here. Tears are flowing unstoppable.

I love you and I miss you dearly, Tatay. <3

You will always be my number one fan.

Mangoes?!

What a splendid day! :)

This morning, I was able to revive an eighth grade project. With that, I got carried away and decided to put a new blog. Of course, this will still be my personal and primary blog. See, I like to post enries online but fear that friends will find them. LOL! Weird? Oh well.

Today, of course, was basketball Saturday. Precise Gang won! :) My brother's teams won, too (he plays for two teams). We went to the mall after the game, so I can try on sunglasses that I intend to buy online. I love online shopping!

We also stopped by GNC to check out meal replacement shake powder available. Aaah, health products are so expensive! I decided to go with an affordable one to try out first, and added a mini blender bottle too! I like accessories for added motivation, hehe. This replacement shake is basically for workdays that are so busy I forget to take breaks and lunch. Hopefully, it'll help with my metabolism as well... which will then lead to all the other cool healthy stuff. ;p Mike said that next to cutting up fresh fruits and veges, this might be the next best choice for me (mainly because it's not quite harmful).  Like I said, I enjoy online shopping! So.... I ordered my shake and bottle online! My order should arrive in 6-10 business days. Can't wait. :)

Oh! Papa John's has a totally cool deal I learned of today. Any large pizzas for $10, including their specialty pizzas. Mm... got three for the family, all of which were delicious! Success!

Zumba and verdicts.

I've been wanting to try Zumba for a while now, but never took the time to do so. Well, I finally quit putting it off, and went to my first Zumba class! :) It was so much fun... dancing a full hour and all. I have to admit that it sort of kicked my butt because my legs were burning afterwards! Whew! But I would do it all over again. Yup! I'm already planning my next attendance. Haha.

Ok, enough about my yesterday. Today was such a big day! First was the Johannes Mehserly verdict in connection to the New Year's Day 2009 killing of Oscar Grant. The jury found him guilty of only involuntary manslaughter. There's a huge outcry in the Oakland, and I'm so glad I'm a good forty minutes away from that place. I can only imagine the mess that's about to come. =( Then of course, the much awaited verdict of LeBron James as to what jersey he will be wearing this fall. His final decision? Miami Heat. Wow! That decision alone eliminates him from the pedestal that the likes of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are on -- the men who stayed loyal and carried their teams to championships, regardless of the situation.

5th of July

If there's one thing I appreciate about my job, it's the fact that I get every Federal holiday off... PAID! :) My weekend was quite chill, but still enjoyable. It consisted of a small family "kids-only" barbecue & kick-it at Ben's (the bf's brother) on Saturday, followed by a Rugrats marathon at my house the following day. We ended up chillin' at home all afternoon to the point that we got too lazy to drive down to the Marina for some fireworks. Oh well -- heheh.

So we found out that we are very much disliked by friends. The basis? "Flaking out" on the Las Vegas trip. I understand what they're feeling, but it wasn't like we decided to just not go. We had to not go. See, Mike already canceled about three weeks in advance because he had a speeding ticket to pay for in Santa Clarita (LA area) that week, but I was still going despite having to report to work Friday morning. Then, a week before his court date, we found out that the registered owner (or insured) had to also appear in court. That's when I had to cancel. "/ I understood the consequences of the situation, but I had no choice. Well, I still had the rest of that week off since I've already requested it for Las Vegas, and we didn't want to waste it! Since my brother and his family were already in LA, we decied we would just meet up with them. Because our plane tickets to LV were nonrefundable, it only made sense to use it elsewhere. Monday evening, Mike and I flew to Orange County, and were picked up by my brother. I tweeted about it since it was nothing to hide, and knew all along that it might have been taken the wrong way. It did. Hah. What we didn't see coming though was how much friends would not understand the situation. Anaheim is a short drive to LA, which is where we needed to be. Had we gone to LV, itinerary would have been LV Wednesday night, LA Thursday morning, home that friday-- our friends were in LV Wed-Sat. Needless to say, it all turned out to be a mess. At least I got the best out of my vacay days. Mike is quite livid with this nonsense.

I did however got away with just working from home on Friday since my manager had an emergency Thursday. E-mailing three reports from a network away from work is quite a task! Hah.

Ohhh but the best part of that crazy week though?! World of Color live! Enough said.

101.

Exhausted.

I am so tired of "trial and error" on repeat. For once in a very long time, I wish something would go my way. It feels like I'm running in place with the finish line unimaginable. Helpless. Useless.

Please don't mistake it with unhappiness though. I'm actually in a state of happiness despite all hardships. I mean I'm employed, healthy (well, y'know), loved - life is still good. Not to mention, I only paid $164 for eye exam, contact lens fitting, digital retinal imaging, and one year supply of contacts! Hooray for independence & self-paid insurance. Although, it takes a BUNCH out of my cash flow. ;)

sorry for the lack of update. -__-

In God We Trust

I was on the phone with Mike last night, and we talked about how dangerous our world has become. I guess it never truly occurred to me the magnitude of it all until it hit home. Four months ago, my house was broken into (refer to my January post). My dad still mourns the loss of his 35-yr-old wedding ring, and my mom her beloved Santo Nino & gold Vatican rosary with the personal blessing of Pope Benedict. Of course, we are all glad to simply be safe and alive.

On April 25, a 24-yr-old nursing grad from the local college was reported missing. It took almost two weeks before any real progress was made, as a body of a woman with "similar physical descriptions" was found in the nearby county. Today, it was reported that the body of the woman found on Friday was that of hers. No further reports have been made. RIP Phuong Le, and may God be with her family. :(

To make things a little scarier, yesterday a body of another woman was found inside a home in Solano County. I don't know where North Gate Road is, but Google is telling it's near Travis AFB. TAFB?! Near my workplace?! Near my boyfriend's home?! Oh heck no! An arrest has been made though, so let's hope she gets justice.

Can my area get any more scary?! I've been in this city for damn near fifteen years, and nothing crazy like this has ever happened so close to one another. People say that population has been mixed with that from the other side of the bay. Ughh.. :(

B-b-but, I like this place.

My mom's the best there is... :)

To all the moms out there, Happy Mother's Day! :) My mom's working a double today, so I can't really spend much time with her. I do, however, plan on bringing her food to work before I go to afternoon mass. I can go on and on and on about my mom, but I'll keep that just for her. I have to say though that mom's the most amazing woman I know, no lie! She's always working, that even in the picture below -- I had to steal her from work (yup, she's still in her scrubs), so she can attend my newphew's birthday party! Hehe.

Clap!

Spring break filled April. :)

Two weeks ago,  the boyfriend and I returned to our home sweet home -- Disneyland! :) We went for a few reasons. 1) I was missing it so much, lol.  2) It was the last weekend that the Electrical Parade was showing. I heard people say it's coming back in the summer, so I'm crossing my fingers.  3) It was the first weekend for the Wine & Food Festival at California Adventures. Guy Fieri was there, but we weren't able to see him because we were babysitting.  4) We wanted to see Aladdin again because they're taking it out after the summer festivities.  5) Fireworks! It was actually a pleasant surprise for me because they displayed the 50th anniversary fireworks show. My fave!  6) We just needed a get-away.

Of course, we also went on our food trip. First was California Fish Grill for my much awaited cajun salmon tacos. Mm! :) Then some ramen in Fountain Valley. Of course, there's CBTL, beignets, corn on the cob, and other Disney treat.s Finally, on our last day, Don Antonio's. Yums! Sadly, I wasn't able to get my frozen mocha from Main Street, USA. Next time. Boyfriend's brother, sister-in-law, and nephew joined us on our last day at Disneyland, which was pretty cool. ESPN Zone's mango margarita was on point! Noms.

Just this past weekend, I helped throw a surprise princess party for Ate Sheryll's 30th. Her husband and best friend (my love, Ate Sarah) were the event coordinators, and I was the assistant. Lol. Who knew that getting two dozens of balloons in a car by yourself could be a challenging task? Yeeeeah. Anyway, it was a success. She was caught off guard when she came home from being out and about. Complete with a princess-themed jump house, cotton candy and snowcone machines, parlor games, pop games, and people who love her -- it was a success. ^^ Unfortunately that same day, boyfriend's basketball team was eliminated from playoffs. Womp womp. :(

Sorry there's not much essence or effort in this post. I'm pretty much ready for another vacay. Who's down? :)

Defying Gravity

I left a yet another busy week behind, and started off my weekend with a loud BANG! :)

Mike and I went on an all-out date tonight. :) Because today was the Feast Day of St. Joseph, it was ok to eat meat on this friday. Father Downey said so, hehe! With that in mind, we weren't limited to our choice of food to eat. We opted in for Buckhorn Grill, where I had my favorite Bacon Cheddar Buck with a side of sweet potato fries. Mm.. ;) After dinner, we walked over to Teacake Bakeshop for some much-craved cupcakes, and got our parking validated by purchasing coffee from Barnes & Noble. Heheh! The traffic towards San Francisco was pretty hectic near the toll plaza, but got a little spacier as we drove on to the bridge.

Then guess what? Mike and I watched WICKED at the Orpheum Theater. Finally.. :) The play was soooo good. Eden Espinosa played Elphaba, which I thought was pretty cool because she was the voice behind the summer "Magical" fireworks at Disneyland. Without taking anything away from her and the rest of the cast members, I honestly thought that Kendra Kassebaum as our Glinda made watching the musical that much more worth it. She was hilarious, and I loved her energy! Oh my. I definitely recommend this musical to anyone and everyone! GO!

You're still beautiful.  It's not lying; it's looking at things another way.
Blonde.
Lemons and melons and pears. Oh my!
You've been... Galindafied!

Love, love, love.

March madness!

It's been about two weeks since I last updated, and already... it's midway through the month. Oh man! There have been some changes at work. As always, it's hectic and people don't get tired of complaining. =/ That's what tires me out the most about work. I mean, deadline? Sure! Reports? Gotcha. Never becoming satisfied? What the eff?! Anyway, one of my co-workers was terminated.  It was a long time coming, but I still would've never thought it would be like it was. Despite all my ramblings about her and her hot & cold attitude, I miss her. One and a half years of working together was a pretty long time, and we had a lot of good laughs and memories. *sigh...* I'm just glad I left early the day she received the bad news; otherwise, I would've been in tears. It's never a good day when you have to say goodbye. I wish her well though - and a baby! :)  In her replacement, I am getting a transferee from another branch. She starts tomorrow, and I hope all will be well. As it has always been, I will be the youngest at my branch. Heh.

So far this month, I have indulged in some delicious eat-outs! :) Some of my favorites are as follows:
  • The "whole shabang" array of seafood and sweet potato fries from Boiling Crab, San Jose. You can truly never go wrong there. Plus, we went on a weekday right before they open, so we didn't have to wait hours to eat. :)
  • Dim sum on carts from King Valley Tea House, Pinole. I just really like good dim sum for cheap prices, haha.
  •  Fish & Chips from Woodhouse Fish Co., San Francisco. It was fresh and easy to chew. Their shoestring fries and clam chowder were also winners. My boyfriend ordered their Chipotle Calamari Roll which was very delicious as well.
  • The now famous Burritozilla from Iguanas, San Jose. If you ever watch Man vs Food, you definitely know the Burritozilla. It's an eighteen inch, five pound burrito. Such a beast!
After doing all that, I feel like I should create a Yelp! username. LOL. We'll see.

Lastly, today was such an eventful day! Mike and I left early in the morning (7:30ish) to travel to San Jose for the 4th time in the span of one week. This time, we had a very important purpose. My nephew, Patrick, was selected to attend the National Young Leaders State Conference, and today was his commencement.  I have to say that I am very proud of this young man. He is turning thirteen this week, and I cannot ask for more from such an amazing nephew. :)

Good night!

Oinks!

Days that follow a fantastic weekend or holiday never fail to make realize that I live in the real world. Ow! Saturday was the "big day" I had taken charge of with K. Emerson to make Sarah feel special. It was all going just fine until an uninvited someone ruined it. I was sooooo pissed! ;[ I'm just glad that she didn't show up because I honestly would've walked out. Blehh.. -___- Overall, it turned out to be a fun day celebrated with some of the best people I know. Later that evening, Precise Gang, formerly known as Chargers also formerly known as B2K, played their first game of the season... and won in double overtime. Woot, woot. The next day, I chowed down on some dim sum with my brother, niece, and favorites. I love dim sum, and I really can't wait until the next time I get some. Lol. *Oink!*

Of course, work... never changes. It was going well, then I realized that my coworkers are very sketchy. What's cool right now is hell in ten minutes. I don't know what to do with them anymore. :( So that sounds awful, right? Well, that's basically the least of my problems. Argh... =/

Lord, please guide me and give me the strength to be strong. I trust in You.

Caramel friday.

I'm sitting on my bed with only the screen as my source of brightness. Beside me are one and a half (I've eaten the other half) caramel apple empanadas and a tall caramel frappuccino. I'm content. :) I could on turn on the TV, but that will take away from the peacefulness of my room. I like this every once in a while. Complete silence, only hearing the uncontrollable wind or cars passing by outside my window. I miss this, actually. I miss being able to hear thoughts, and pray for them too. Still, I ask... why is it so cold this late in February?

These past few days, I feel like a teeny bopper who wants to stalk her celebrity crushes. The thing though is that I have none, nor would I stalk them if I did. This is pretty weird, lol. Still in the same time frame came my lowest point for some time now. IT SUCKS! I feel like I fell into this unseen hole, and I have no one to help me up. Why am I feeling this way? I don't understand this, and if this is hormones of some sort - yearning for spring maybe - well, I don't want it. I just want to be happy, and enjoy my everday. =| Yeaaah.

I probably just need some sleep. and motivation. and get back on point with my faith. <3

The biggest little city in the world!

I love weekend getaways - this past weekend was to Reno, NV! First stop was Boreal Mountain Resort in Truckee for some fun in the snow with my brother, sister-in-law, niece, boyfriend, God-daugher, and friends. Kuya Reggie, Ate Cel, Kyla, Mike, Sam, Em, Sarah, JP, and Sheryll. :) Afterward, we all drove another hour to Reno, where stayed at Harrah's. Thanks for the free rooms, Kuya & Ate! We also had bogo dinner at Carvings Buffet, then free breakfast the following morning. Yesss! We basically just chilled and stuffed our noses with second-hand smoke. >.< Gross! Despite losing hard-earned cash, I still had lots of fun. & btw, I love the Sex and the City machines - they're so posh and lucky. Heh.

Today, once again, was back to reality. I woke at around 5:30am, and contemplated for about forty-five minutes on whether to go to work or call in. I called in. :( I hate calling in, but I really couldn't lift my head off the pillow. I'm still feeling under the weather, but at least I can get myself up and about now. I'm nervous about going back to work tomorrow, especially since I know how my coworkers and higher-ups are. *sigh* But like Jennifer said, I just gotta do me. Yeaaah.

Well, good night world. :)

W.A.

Thank goodness tomorrow's finally Friday! This week, by far, has been the longest four-day work week EVER! There were so many things to do, reports that needed to be done, documents and paperwork that needed to be processed and loaded, and the worst part of all - there are more to do tomorrow! ARGH. ;[ I am irritated at the fact that I have on and off coworkers. Their biz gets so irritating, and the worst part is that they think it's all okay. EACH OF THEM, no exceptions. Please stop thinking that you are doing soooo much more than me when in reality, I have taken just about most of your load that you used to complain about. Seriously, proof scanning isn't difficult... at all! Quit putting it off because we're getting negative feedbacks. And you, please stop thinking that you're doing that much work. Honestly, what you do in a week is less than what I do in a day. Real talk. *sigh...* I hate having to put authority in place, especially to someone who is like a mom to me, but c'mon, can I get a little respect please? Thanks.

-___-

Mike works a lot, almost too much. Don't get me wrong or anything because I love that he gets a lot of hours at work and all. However, to work just about everytime work needs him? AHH! I get that he wants / needs the hours, and that he loves his work and coworkers so much he can't just leave them hanging, but... please, can he love himself too? Can he take a break sometimes? Even for just a day... like the days he's originally scheduled off. It's been a while... and it's not even his career.

Yeaaah, that's all for now. I'm tired. Lent is so far so good. :)

Live simply so that others may simply live.

Ash Wednesday. I attended the 4:15 mass at Holy Spirit with Mike. It felt so good to be back. :)

For this Lenten Season, I have decided that I will try my best to live simply. No big splurges, no abrupt wants. I have to think carefully and responsibly. Priorities in check. In addition, I will try to not be so stressed and cranky, haha. I've been having some serious issues with those two late, as well as cursing and drinking excessive soda. AHK. I know those may not sound too bad, but problems are problems and excess means too much.

God, please be with me.

I want to better myself as well as those around me. I want to be a positive part of someone and anyone's life, even if it is just for a minute or two. I wish to be selfish in a way that I can give myself to others, and to share what I possess with those who need it more.  Most of all, I want my next forty days to last my next forty lifetimes.

Untitled

All these stress, pressure, and expectations from the world I live in have me slacking off and neglecting the people and things that matter most.  I hate this feeling. I hate feeling helpless. I have a few more hours to think of how to enrich myself and my life during the Lenten season and the rest of the year.

Here we go...

Saint Valentine

Once again, I faced a very stressful week at work.  On Thursday, we were given a task to prepare $300,000 all in $20 bills by the next morning. O_O! Given that our vault isn't even entitled to that much money, please believe that everyone in the higher-ups were frantic about meeting the demand, myself included. After verifying and putting my thumb print on all 15,000 bills, I was basically done looking at any more. Aah.. phew. After all the shifting, adjusting, and trades... we were able to meet the demand before close of business. I think everyone was relieved. Yahoo! :)

The weekend was great.

On Saturday, my favorite Sarah Kay treated me too spa and pedicure. It was her and my Goddaughter's Valentine's day gift to me. Aww... :) Later that night, we (Ate Sarah, Kuya Em, Sam, Mike, and I) went to Fentons for dinner and generous heaps of dessert. SO GOOD! and sinful.

For Valentine's Day, Mike and I watched Dear John then had dinner at Hs Lordship's in Berkeley, CA. I had crab & shrimp stuffed salmon, while he feasted on a 3/4 lb prime rib. YUM! The part in the book that had me crying also got me during the movie. Oh man. <3 The night was of course ended with Starbucks before he dropped me off. Thanks for the flowers, singing balloon, and chocolates, Valentine!

Today, Mike and I took Patrick, Matt, and Kyla to the Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio in San Francisco, CA. I want to go back just so I can re-read everything. It was sort of hard when looking after kids at the same time. After the museum, we took the kids to Hooters for chicken wings, fries, and burgers, then went to CB&TL. We took the kids down Lombard Street (the most crooked street in the world) and took the Golden Gate Bridge homebound to add to our educational trip. Haha! Fun, fun. :D

& that's all for now.

Who dat?

Who dat? Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, and the rest of the Saints... that's who! :)

The rest of the work week was hell. I am officially at the desk. Still, there will always be people who are envious and forever bitter. There will always be two-faced liars. It's basically a love-hate relationship right now. I love that I have a full time job, but hate that I'm blatantly underpaid and can't do anything about it. *sigh...* Anyone out there hiring full time? :) Gimme a career, please! Hah.

I'm just glad that this weekend made up for it all. Reunited with loves at Lindsey's 4th birthday party. After the party, we watched Michael Jackson's This Is It on bluray. Everyone knows that today is Superbowl (XLIV) Sunday, and the Saints won! I have nothing against Manning (extreme respect for that man) and the Colts, but the Saints though... woo! ;) It was a great game, lots of talent, and I'm happy it was worth watching. Oh, and my favorite ad from this year? The Google Parisian Love ad. It is so cute! :D

Tomorrow, I have to go back to work.  -___- I'd rather not. I'd much rather be with friends and family. Most def.

First day of the second month...

ALREADY?! Time is seriously on lightspeed. Slow down a bit, pleeease... =/

On a good note, I've filed my federal and state taxes! :) I am expecting my returns to be deposited into my account in the next three weeks. YAAAY! It's too bad that "the more you make, the less you get." Oh well, at least I get something. I've also started on Mike's taxes, and all I have to do is wait for him to provide the rest of the documents. I feel kind of proud, but hopefully I did everything correctly. I do not want to get audited by the IRS. O_o Yikes!

First day of the month is always busy at work. I've done my retentions and submitted my reports. By Wednesday, I just have to do audits, inventories, and review paperworks. I guess I gotta go in to work extra early in the next two days. *sigh...*

Janyouwaree

It's been quite an eventful year so far. There were bad time and good times - so crazy! There are so many things that I want to get off my chest, kind of.

One thing I will be putting out there although I never wanted to is the fact that my family was a victim of a break-in robbery on the eve of my brother's birthday. It was during the daytime when everyone was at work. My mom was the one to discover the ransacked rooms, and was left in disbelief and anxiety. My dad and I rushed home as soon as we heard about what happened. =/ Police report was filed, but we all know it takes time for almost nothing. Family heirlooms, jewelries, cash, and sentimental items were taken from our home, but we're glad that we all still have our lives. The family is still shaken, but still counting our blessings. We all know God is with us. :)

Of course with the bad always comes the good. I have been promoted to supervisor at work! :) Yes, you can soon find me behind the desk inside that cozy-looking office. WOOHOO! Fiiinally, I can get paid to be physically away from work. Haha.

Good news? Over the MLK weekend, Mike and I went to SoCal to celebrate his 24th birthday (OLDIE! lol jk). What was supposed to be a mere Disneyland visit turned into a food trip. Ramen, seafood tacos, ribs, steak, etc. Sooo delicious! :) Disneyland, as always, was a ton of fun. It was too bad that the rain got in the way of the much awaited fireworks show. Womp womp.

Over this past weekend (Jan. 23-24), thirteen friends and I went to Northstar in Lake Tahoe. We all shared a condo for the night, and had the biggest slumber party ever! We danced the night away to Lady Gaga, Trey Songz, Mario, Ke$ha, and Miley! We drank out of yellow cups with "stripper names" given randomly by one another, had snowball fights, and went snowboarding. There were plenty more worth mentioning, but that would take foreeeever. If you're my friend on Facebook, you can check out the pictures through my tagged photos. It was nonetheless an amazing getaway with amazing people. I'm hella sore though! :|

On a different note - where the eff is my W2?! I need to file my taxes soon. I hooope I don't have to pay the state as I've always done. *sigh...*

OK, that's all. PS. I need to start saaaaving! Aaaahh!

Jakesully

So far, so good. =) Last night, I finally watched Avatar with Mike, Ate Sarah, and Kuya Emerson. Everyone I know who had seen it said it was thaaat good, and quite frankly I thought it was thaaat good! :) Hahah! That movie is amazing! The graphics are awesome, the story, the characters... oh boy! It almost makes me hate humans, because it shows how we only care for what we can take. Do we ever think about fair trade with Mother Nature? She gives us soooo much, and we give so little. Something to think about.

Today, I fulfilled one of my cravings from last night. Puto & dinuguan (sp). I don't even know why I was craving -- I never crave chocolate meat! LOL. Nonetheless, it was delicious. I have to admit though, I can't just eat anybody's choco-meat. I have to know who made it, and I have to self-approve it. It's weird things in there y'know, I have to know that my food is clean! Heh :P

Finally, I hooked up my PS3 to the TV in the family room. I also took out the Wii from my room, and took it out there as well. The only thing I have left to hook us is the DVD player. I'm thinking about buying DHMI cables, but those are definitely not necessary right now. I also have to hook up my DVD player in my room; I don't remember how it made its way out of my room.

Anyway, that's all I have for now. Don't forget in 2010 -- Give a Day, Get a Disney Day. ;)

A whole new decade!

Happy new year, everyone! Happy new decade as well.

If I have to choose one word to describe the last day of my '09, I would choose busy! Yup. But if I have to choose one word to describe my year, I wouldn't be able to do it... even more about my decade. Between 2000-2009, I attended middle school, high school, and college. I had three long-term relationships (thinking that 2+ years were long in accordance to my age, lol), still going strong with my third one. I traveled to several places with friends and family in and out of the country via car, plane, and ships, Disneyland being the most popular. I made new friendships, strengthened already built ones, and sadly lost some. I became an aunt three more times, and a God-mother twice more. I got my driver's lincense, car, and two jobs. I volunteered hundreds of hours to local communities and charities, and became part of two ministries. I've had my share of troubles and disappointments, but the good always prevail. I had my first alcoholic drink, went to my first 18+ and 21+ clubs, gambled, but not a puff of smoke. There are a lot more to say, but the most important things are that my faith is stronger, and I learned, learned, and learned.
