Reward: OK

I should have given up shopping for Lent. Lately, I have been on a roll on buying things I can probably live without. That was painful to type, but it's true. Still, most of them were good buys and are not just "clutter." Of all the things I bought, my favorites are the new Vinylmations (SF Giants, 49ers, and Chicago Bulls editions) to add to my collection and the Tiffany Infinity necklace (yes, I bought it for myself). I feel... rewarded! :)

So as you all know by now, it's a leap year! What are you doing for the extra day? I know what I'm doing -- I will be at Disneyland for their "One More Day" shindig! The park will be open for 24 hours, and I'm pretty darn excited! I can't wait to fly to Orange County tomorrow.

It feels good to be on vacay-wacay, even for just a few days. Being at home makes me realize how much I miss my family. There is no such thing as family and work life balance where I work because branch's boss takes it all; everyone definitely thinks so. It's okay right now though; I honestly do care for her and her well-being. But no, I cannot and should not expect the same from her. Hopefully, things change and I can score at least one of the major holidays (she has made sure she is on vacation on the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year). So unfair. Oh well.

Happy thoughts.

Disneyland in less than 24 hours! :)

Keeping Positive

Fifty-two days into the new year, and I have to admit that I spent most of it working.  I pretty much live at the office.  New district, new district manager, new colleagues, higher expectations, a little bit more pressure, a lot to prove.  It's an ongoing thing, but hey, time stops for no one right?  Still breathing.

On the days that I was lucky enough to have off, I did spend doing some exciting stuff.  For instance,  I saw a performance of Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque du Soleil in San Jose followed by a visit to the "Happiest Place on Earth" for a few days with the boyfriend.  Then, adding to one of the coolest moments of my life -- I went to my first ever NFL Playoff game!  I wish the result was different, but it was still an awesome experience.  I love my 49ers.  The following weekend, I took a trip to Reno with my brother and friends for some more fun time.  My niece turned seven years old.  Saw a couple of movies in the theater, and took a handful of dinner trips to places like Boiling Crab, Cheesecake Factory, some chicken wings places, dim-sum bars, ramen houses, and sushi joints. Truly, those were great times.

Tomorrow is the beginning of Lenten Season, which means I've got quite a night of thinking and reflecting to prepare me for the season to come.  Luckily, I have enough time before work to attend mass for Ash Wednesday.  Dad said he will go with me! :)
